Ingredients :
- Basmati Rice - 2 cups ( serves 4 )
- Onion - 1 small (diced in slices)
- Chopped carrot - 1/2 cup
- Small potato - 1 - chopped in cubes
- Beans - 1/2 cup
- Peas - 1/2 cup
- curd - 1 tbspn
- Water - 400-500 ml
- Oil - 2 tbspn
- Green chilli - 2-3
- Bayleaf - 1-2
- Cloves - 2-3
- Cinnamon Stick - 1 small
- Ginger & garlice paste - 1/2 tspn
- Chilli powder - 1/2 tspn
- Garam Masala - 1/4 tspn
- Veg Biryani Powder - 1 tspn
- Mustard/ Cumin Seeds - 1/2 tspn
- Salt
Steps :
- Once you start the chopping / preparation , soak the rice in water in parallel (for 10-15 mins) .
- Take a pressure cooker ( for me rice comes split and separate only in a big cooker ) and add oil to it.
- When the oil is hot - add Mustard/ Cumin Seeds , Cinnamon Stick , Cloves, Bayleaf .
- Then add onion and stir it for 2-3 mins. Once the onion turns soft add - carrot , peas , beans , potato.
- Add spices and then add water. Once the water comes to a boil add curd .
- Add Rice and let it cook for 1 whistle on medium flame.
Serve with Boondi Raita !

Tried this , and it came out really well. For the first time the rice was not sticking together :)
I used the exact same amy of water as u suggested and used a big pressure cooker too!
